Tasting Notes
A clean, floral nose with hints of citrus fruit. A weighty mouthfeel and full body intensifies flavours of lemon, grapefruit and a subtle floral character. The finish is long, revealing savoury almond notes
History
L'Olivella was founded in 1986 by expert viticulturist Umberto Notarnicola and wine expert from Piedmont, Bruno Violo. The winery is young, dynamic with a focus on sustainable agricultural practices. Volcanic soils from the region are rich in desirable minerals which help vine development and contribute depth and complexity to the wines.
Regional Information
Vineyards cultivated using the Guyot system by producing 8.000 kg of grapes per hectare on average, and a density of around 4.500 vine roots. Volcanicorigin, rich in Potassium, Phosphorus and Magnesium. Hilly, well-exposed and ventilated.

Careful selection of grapes, carried out by hand. Late harvesting. Grapes vinified separately in stainless steel tanks with control temperature.

Excellent and inexpensive

I recently purchased this wine and was very impressed, excellent with pasta and homemade sauce. Not bone dry but not sweet.

Rather disappointing. Unremarkable.

We tried a bottle as it was on offer, after reading the 5 star review, and because our preferred Frascati by Olivella was out of stock. The Villa Conti wine had rather a dark greeny-brown colour and did not taste particularly fresh. While it was drinkable, it was in no way remarkable & we resolved not to buy it again. It seemed to us to have little if any bouquet and little taste of fruit. I should add we read the label and observed the recommendation to serve it well chilled.
