HOW WE BAKE
Unlike many other supermarket sourdoughs, we never bake with additives or commercial yeast.
We choose diverse heritage grains, maintain our starters with care and follow an expertly baker-led fermentation process, to unlock the full potential of every loaf. Baked fresh every day.
HOW IT TASTES
Loaded with nutritious seeds, including chia, millet, sunflower & brown linseed, this loaf packs a flavoursome, nutty punch. A tacky, chewy crumb, generously filled and hand rolled in seeds.
Shaped and sliced for the everyday. Ideal for sandwiches, toast, toasties and more.

Brand
We set out to bring better bread to every table. By reshaping and slicing our sourdough loaves, we're making them easier to enjoy every day.
We bake our sourdough with heritage grains like emmer, barley & spelt - each chosen for their depth of flavour and nutrition. Never with any artificial preservatives or added sugars.
For us it's not only about fermentation time and starter age. Crafting the best sourdough requires a caring human working with nature, instinct and decades of training.
The bread tells us when it's ready but only a chosen few bakers listen and understand.
This is bread, made better.

One of the best...
Given that this is mass produced, I have to give Bertinet a lot of credit for creating a genuine sourdough with no additives. It might not taste as good as an artisan baked loaf from round the corner, but it's convenient delivered, lasts well and tastes very good. Admittedly I always toast it, but then it makes good toast too. And I know it's better for me than most supermarket bread with dozens of additives. Well done Bertinet.
Too dry and rubbery
I love Sourdough and I love seeds but this bread is not working. Too dense for a proper sourdough which should have lots of air bubbles and holes and be lighter in texture. No emulsifiers but those saying this is the best need to make it or try another premium brand of sourdough then realise this is nothing like proper sourdough.
Tasty bread
A tasty alternative to the increasingly processed bread that seems to fill the shelves these days. Dense and full of flavour, but not sweet.
Dry, dense and still chewy when toasted
Sourdough seems to be getting more and more popular and this had some good reviews but neither me or my husband liked it. It was dry and dense so we toasted it. It took longer to crisp up than our usual bread and even when it had browned it still had a chewy aspect. A very expensive mistake for us but full of seeds so has ended up on our lawn for the birds
lovely bread
