This gin is a little sour, but just delicious with a ginger ale mixer, just ordering another bottle as it is also a favourite of my friends!
How easily we forget that Rhubarb is only made palatable by the addition of huge amounts of sugar! The first impression is the deep pink colour in the glass, even with lots of ice. I drank this on the rocks so no sweetened tonic mixer so I could get a base impression of the spirit as it comes. On the nose it is almost like a citrusy rose water with a hint of strawberry. Take a sip and the overbearing sensation is of sourness with that rose/strawberry flavours in the finish. This would make a great base for cocktails using syrups. No bitters required!
