Natoora Sicilian Unwaxed Blood Oranges
- Unwaxed Blood Oranges direct from an independent grower and his mountain groves in Sicily.
- The first variety of the season to ripen is Moro, the most highly-coloured of his blood oranges.
- This is due to a high concentration of anthocyanin, the same antioxidant that tints purple grapes. Anthocyanin is the source of the fruit’s distinct berry flavour.
- After Moro, we will move on to the Sanguinello and then Tarocco variety from the same grower.
- Both varieties will darken in colour and intensify in flavour in the region’s unique mild days and cold nights.
- Grown without the use of chemical sprays or fertilisers.
Take it further
- Freshly squeezed juice.
- Segment, toss with thinly sliced fennel and macerated red onions.
Natoora's radical approach to seasonal sourcing is shaping the future of food

Possibly getting late in the season, as these were past their best. Small, 2 were rotten. 2 were very good, sweet and juicy and dark red, but at this price thats not really good enough.
Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous!
The dark, dark red of the flesh of these beautiful oranges tells you that they're going to taste just how you want them. That's assuming that, like me, you want the really strong, delicious flavour so different from the average orange.
flavourful and great quality
No, these oranges were not the size of grapefruits. They were the size of normal oranges. They were incredibly juicy and flavourful, tangy but also a bit sweet, and lasted a good amount of time between counter and fridge (about a week). My kids who are picky eaters and wont eat normal oranges or clementines absolutely love these. Definitely expensive though. (Worth the extra cost to me for the kids.)
lovely sweet taste
Regular order for me!
Don\x27t Bother \- a waste of money
Having bought a few Natoora products and been very happy with them, especially the cheese, I decided to dip my toe in the water with the oranges. The first I bought were amazing. However, the last 3 lots have been awful. 2nd lot went mouldy but I had forgotten about them so thought it was my fault. Third lot had one bad orange in it so again, just brushed it off. The 4th and final lot were out of date in 2 days. These are oranges that people have stored for donkey's years in a cold place. Anyway, this batch were impossible to peel properly and all four were not in an optimum state given the price. I am wondering if these are being damaged in transit e.g., freezing/thawing. Will not be buying any more at almost £1 each.
Tiniest oranges ever
These were so small, they were smaller than mandarines. And quality wasn’t exceptional either. Waste of money
