FLAVOUR IS A FRONTIER
Natoora Fresh Sweet Tropea Onions
- Deeply sweet and fragrant, these unique onions are protected by IGP and grown exclusively in Calabria, southern Italy.
- The rich soil and mild coastal climate encourage these onions to develop their natural sugars, making them much sweeter than other varieties.
- We source direct from the Santacroce family, who have passed their seeds and growing artistry down through four generations.
- Beneath their red skins these Tropea Onions are white throughout, a sign of varietal authenticity and intense sweetness.
- As the season goes on, we’ll see subtle variations in characteristics - size, shape - as the harvest moves through the family’s own saved seeds.
- Grown without the use of chemical sprays or fertilisers.
Take it further
- Thinly sliced, pickle quickly in red wine vinegar and toss with seasonal leaves.
- Grill whole, drizzled with olive oil and lemon zest.
Natoora's radical approach to seasonal sourcing is shaping the future of food
- We are revolutionising the food system.
- We work direct with growers who value flavour, biodiversity and heritage over yield.
- We give them the support they need to build a better future for food, rooted in small scale, sustainable agriculture that gives back to our planet.

Odd sizes and mouldy
I laughed when I saw these, there was one huge onion - about an inch across - and one little one, about 1/4 inch! Onions don't keep well once cut but the big one was too much for one go. As it turns out, when I went to use them, the big onion had gone slimy and off even though they were within the expiry date. Even on a flash sale - total waste of money.
rubbish packaging
Great onions, but the packaging is awful in which the onion sweats and a 2 day shelf life is atrocious
One fat onion!
Very acidic sharp flavour, not sweet like a Tropea onion should be. And large and round, not the classic banana shape. Not convinced this was a tropea onion at all.
1 onion
I bought this item on a flash sale and thought I was ordering a variety of salad onion. I received 1 large onion and the green on it was very badly damaged. I know it says these change in size etc. seasonally but I would not pay £1.75 for an amazing onion let alone £3.50!
Lovely
Great flavour for salads, tasty but not too sharp. Bought a couple of times and they lasted well, think it was about 5 days. Nice to be able to use the green bits, not like other brands that are too full of sand or bugs.
Disappointing
