FLAVOUR IS A FRONTIER
Natoora Fresh Spanish Loquats
- With a soft texture and delicate skins that bruise easily, Loquats are bound to their local growing region and rarely found in the UK.
- We bend our supply chain to source them fully ripe and undamaged from Alicante in Spain.
- Peel back the skin — which can be bitter — and find sweet, soft flesh with apricot, cherry and floral notes.
Take it further
- Roast with butter and brown sugar.
- Make jam or compote.
Our packaging is plastic-free
- We have developed our own revolutionary packaging which is entirely plastic-free and home disposable. Each of our recyclable cardboard punnets is flow-wrapped with home-compostable film which, unlike traditional plastic flow-wrap, disintegrates within 180 days. Dispose of the black punnet in your normal recycling and the clear film in your food waste bin.
- Each punnet bears the ‘Plastic Free’ mark of A Plastic Planet, a grassroots movement which aims to turn off the plastic tap.
Natoora's radical approach to seasonal sourcing is shaping the future of food
- We are revolutionising the food system.
- We work direct with growers who value flavour, biodiversity and heritage over yield.
- We give them the support they need to build a better future for food, rooted in small scale, sustainable agriculture that gives back to our planet.

Delicious
Good quality. Fresh and full of flavour.
Subtle but lovely
The skin can be bitter, which I don't mind, you can peel it off and just eat the flesh which is sweet and lightly aromatic. Can be cooked down into jam or compote. Those who have eaten loquats before will be aware they bruise, and this is not a bad sign, but quite normal. If you enjoy plums, gages and sloe, you'll enjoy these.
nasty bruises and \x27ulcers\x27
Ive never tried these before so I didn't know what to expect. Shocked to see so many brown patches and several black 'ulcers' from a Natoora product. I did try peeling one and slicing it but it reminded me of kiwi fruit in its balance of sour and slight background of sweetness. So I disposed of the pack despite my hatred of wasting food.
small morsel delicious, rest bruised.
I recommend as the edible part was delicious. However I did buy them hugely reduced and not sure if would be worth the full price even in peak condition. I have marked down because I had to throw most straight in the recycling which appears to be a regular experience for people buying these so, I guess may get a back up treat and be ready with fingers hovering over the refund button.
Bit of a shame really
I absolutely love loquats and have appreciated being able to get hold of them on Ocado as they're hard to find in the UK. That said, I recently managed to find some being sold locally that were less than half the price of these and in much better condition. But they were also of much better quality - these Ocado ones are a bit bland and watery in comparison. Which is a little unusual as Natoora usually have great quality fruit and a sweetness which I don't normally mind paying a premium for. But £1 for a single (often badly bruised) loquat no doubt makes those living in southern Europe highly amused.
Badly Bruised And Overripe
These were badly bruised, black all over them. I bit into one and it was black all the way through and way overripe. Would not recommend and certainly not at a £4 price point for 4 of them.
