very unpleasant
I agree with previous reviewer, these used to be good but are now so unpleasant as to be inedible. They have a strange musty and bitter taste, and are slimy and mushy in texture.
Now unpleasant
My Nan used to serve these up in the old days, then my Mum and now me. The last tin was so unpleasant I threw them out. They were not off, but just dry and had a nasty almost muddy taste. It's a shame, as I remember many good beach holidays for us, putting these into a fresh buttery roll and how delicious they were. I shall never buy them again now.
Yuk
I love sardines in plain olive oil, but this is disgusting, mashed texture, odd smell and taste, totally sickening. I tried these ones as my regular Parmentier ones seems to be not stocked any more, never again !!! I will just find another supplier
Bit Hit \x26 Miss
Broadly fine sardines, ocassionally get one or two poor quality (but edible) fish.
They're fine! And bones are best.
I've tried lots of more expensive sardines and return to the cheaper ones as they are all much of a muchness after I've covered them in chilli sauce. And I always go for the ones with bones. The extra calcium is a bonus.
Full of scales
We have ordered these before and had no complaints, but the sardines in the last batch had all their scales on! Had to wash them in water to make sure I got rid of all of them...
