Jamie Oliver Carnaroli Risotto Rice 500g
£5.75
£1.15 per 100gProduct information
Risotto is a classic comfort food and so easy to make. Carnaroli rice is ideal for a risotto - the long, plump grains can absorb lots of liquid and flavour while still staying al dente, so you get a brilliant contrast of creamy and firm textures in this lovely dish. Made with love,

Preparation and Usage
Cooking Instructions:
Serves 6
Peel and finely chop 2 onions, 2 cloves of garlic and 2 sticks of celery. Melt a knob of butter in a large pan with a little olive oil, then add the vegetables. Cook until soft, then add 500g of rice and stir until all the grains are coated and slightly translucent. Add 1 large glass of white wine, and cook gently until it's absorbed.
Bring 2L of stock to the boil. Add a ladle of stock and stir into the rice until all the liquid has been absorbed. Repeat this, adding further stock, and stirring frequently, until the rice is cooked (about 20 minutes) but slightly al dente. Now is the time to add any other cooked ingredients or herbs. Turn off the heat and add a handful of freshly grated parmesan cheese and another knob of butter. Stir gently, replace the lid and leave to sit for 2 minutes, then serve while piping hot.

Extortionate
Shame on Jamie Oliver for agreeing to sell a 500 gr bag of carnaroli rice at such high price, truly shocking.

Over-rated
Paid to see if there was any difference. Absolutely none , in fact I'd say the quality is worse that Waitrose own, you can even't reuse the bag as you have to tear it. Don't both with this one.

I agree with previous reviewer
I completely agree with the previous review. It's no better or worse than waitrose own that's almost a third of the price!
