Product information

The Jackson and Stichbury families have farmed the free draining soils of Marlborough's Wairau River plains for more than 160 years. In recognition of John (Stich) Stichbury's pioneering spirit and hard work, the 'Stich' Sauvignon Blanc gained its name.

The vines in our Homestead vineyard, planted in 1989, are carefully managed to ensure low yields and are picked in small batches resulting in concentrated fruit. The character of this wine reflects its origins and season, on the nose lifted aromatic notes of zesty citrus and stone fruits and the palate showing lovely rock melon and key lime flavours, with a fine mineral concentration and a refreshingly good crisp acid finish.

Vinification Details
All blocks were harvested in the morning to reduce field heat and enhance flavour. Individually pressed to tank the batches were settled for 72 hours before racking the clear juice off for ferment. Juice was warmed and then inoculated using cultured yeast strains. Average fermentation lasted 3 weeks at mid to low temperatures to maximize aroma and flavour. Post fermentation the young wines were aged on light lees for up to 5 months prior to being blended and prepared for bottling early September 2015

Order this often, but ....

This is always a good Sauvignon Blanc, but my last order ended up tasting of oaked Chardonnay, which is because that's because it was, someone had packed the wrong wine! I love SB because of its citrusy, cat's pee qualities, but I'm not so keen on Chardonnay, especially when it's oaked! Oh well, we all make mistakes... Jackson Estates' Grey Ghost SB, but more expensive - definitely five stars.

Citrus burst

Lovely crisp white wine with fab citrus notes. Must admit I only buy it when on offer…

Really enjoyed this ....the whole bottle!

I was asked to review this wine, so I forced myself to chill the wine for a while, found a good book and managed to force myself to drink most of the bottle to myself. I thoroughly enjoyed it and would buy again. I am normally a red wine drinker, as I find some white wines to acidic but this went down really nicely. Hick!

lovely but pricey

I was sent this to review and really enjoyed it. Very crisp and easy to drink. A bit pricey for every day but would buy occasionally

Would be 4.5 stars if we could

We were sent this wine to review from Ocado. It's a good sauvignon blanc that really seemed to come into its own when we drank it to accompany some vanilla cake. The wine cut through the sweetness of the cake and both the flavours of cake and the wine seemed to become emphasised and perfectly balanced. We would buy again, but perhaps when on offer as this seems slightly on the expensive side.
