Classic taste
Nothing wrong with this at all. I grew up with this soup, it got me through university. I’ve kept with it throughout my life because I love the specific taste. I laden it with numerous turns of blk peppermill and sometimes grated some cheddar or Parmesan though if I’m feeling organised I might do some cheese on toast to go with otherwise I prefer a fresh crusty roll. Perfect. The taste is the same to me or ever so slightly different.
A handy tasty vegetable soup
Enjoyed this soup and will buy again
Oh Dear
Heinz soups seem to be a shadow of their former selves. Last time I had a tin of veg soup, it was flavourful and gorgeous, (albeit that was around 30 years ago). This tin consisted of a few bits of tinned veg, drowning in a thick tomato "blancmange". It was so thick I had to water it down. Dreadful.
so sweet
I was unpleasantly surprised at how sweet this tasted. After checking the label, I saw how much sugar was added. Won't be getting it again.
Just the same
After being sent this to review I was interested to see if it tasted the same, it’s been so long since I bought this. Probably not surprisingly it was just the same, slightly bland but familiar vegetable soup.
Ok but nothing special
I was given this for a review by Ocado. A 400g tin was substituted for a 300g tin as it was out of stock. We usually buy the larger size tin as it makes more of a meal, so was happy to have the substitution. The general feeling was we would have preferred more vegetables, instead of the soup being padded out with pasta. I dont expect vegetable soup to have pasta in it either and it didnt need it! It was a little sweet too but the general flavour was ok. Not sure if we would buy again which is a shame as we are all expected to cut down on our meat eating.
