Tastes just like Tasmamia
Yes, this is the same taste from Tasmania, where I went to the Farm shop. It is not like the Texas honey which is mixed with other items, see other reviews. . Used to be sent to Fortnums from Tasmania back in the nineties. Otherwise, this Harvey Nichols brand is the one to get. . Nice on toast for breakfast or in the afternoon, on banana sandwhiches. . Have A Nice Day.
not a smear on the real thing
Had a Tasmanian leatherwood honey from Sainsburys that was the best honey ever. Instantly transported to my home in east Texas, the piney woods. Once they stopped making it, I tried this. Not a patch on it. Tastes like normal run of the mill honey, none of the amazing flavour of leatherwood. Will not buy again.
Pale shadow of a great and classic honey
I have been eating leatherwood honey for over 10 years and was glad to see this offered. Sadly, whilst this has some of the taste and aroma of leatherwood, it completely lacks the depth, fullness of flavour and buttery texture of a good leatherwood honey. If I didnt know better I would think it was ok, but having a comparison it then falls way short, much like maple flavoured syrup is not the same as real maple syrup. Gave it one star as there was some hint of true flavour and thats a lot better than many commercial honeys nowadays, but dont think you are experiencing a good example of leatherwood honey.
delicious!
Leatherwood honey is my most favourite honey and has become increasingly difficult to buy in the UK. I'm so pleased that Ocado stock this one as it is excellent and has a strong aromatic flavour. A must for honey connoisseurs and the adventurous.
