Our matcha is grown in Japan by the Nakai family, who have been growing matcha for 7 generations. They produce the finest quality ceremonial grade matcha that is grown in the shade to maximise Chlorophyll content.
Matcha contains natural flavonoids and the benefits exceed those of regular green tea as the whole leaf is consumed, rather than just the brewed water. The powder has a unique and distinctive taste, with ours boasting a sweet flavour.

Not so great
This is considerably more bitter, not as finely ground, darker and less rejuvenating than other matcha tea powders. I found myself adding much more sweetness than I normally would, whisking for far longer and, nevertheless, drinking a residue of powder at the end of each cup.
For matcha aficionados
Do not go for it. The quality of this matcha is medium-low
Unpleasant aftertaste
This matcha is fine to use in baking but I find to drink it has a seaweed-y flavour which is quite unpleasant.
Fishy
Sadly, this had a slightly fishy taste. Seems to be a common problem with a lot of matcha in the UK. The Japanese brands I've tried are better, and cheaper.
Delicious and fragrant
I drink matcha purely for the flavour and as a latte or milk shake, so I can't comment on the health aspects. But I tried this brand right after using a different one and I was surprised by how much sweeter and more fragrant it was. When I tried another brand immediately afterwards, the difference was equally noticeable. So I'm going back to this one. Flavour's highly subjective, but if you're dubious about paying extra for ceremonial grade matcha, it really is different to the premium grade. It's worth it. Save the premium for baking and desserts.
