Great quality and delicious
I bought these to add to a seafood paella from the Moro cookbook. I've been using the recipe for years but never bothered to source all of the authentic ingredients previously. Sliced and used to decorate the finished dish, these looked and tasted great. The jar is packed with peppers, all carefully trimmed, and in a neutral oil. I just wish I'd thought to put the half empty jar in the fridge instead of the kitchen cupboard because when I came to use it again a few days later the top was growing white mould, which put me off.
great store cupboard standby
Very tasty. Adds a punch to pasta and stews. Also great in salad. Good to have as a standby in the cupboard.
Traditional and authentic
These peppers are roasted the traditional way in Mediterranean countries so they are soft and have this particular sweet, roasty taste. They are supposed to be soft so you can have them cold on toast or salads or in sauces like hummus but if you prefer them crunchy you can find other products. Unfortunately they can come with their seeds but that’s just natural. It’s good to find food in their natural state and avoid too much processing.
used to make the Ocado Chipotle Chicken 1 pot dish
I used this jar with onions, fresh pepper, Chipotle paste, a can of chick peas and tinned chopped tomatoes, to make my version of the ocado recipe. Topped with sweet potato and a marinated chicken and baked in the oven. I will do it again without the chicken as the sauce was really good and eaten by the whole family. The chicken was just chicken.... 3 stars because while the recipe was nice the peppers on their own are a little soft to serve alone. (Can't say I noticed any seeds but I wasn't bothered if there were.)
Great preserved peppers
I really enjoyed these peppers. They are especially good for salads or snacks - they have their skin removed so they’re softer than similar preserved peppers.
Really Nice Flavour
Downside lots of seeds to get rid of, but would certainly buy again
