nice.
I like this. Its sweet and refreshing. Yummy
Nice flavour
I'm pregnant and wanted to find a nice non alcoholic drink to have for Christmas day. This is by far the best I have found, as doesnt have a strange aftertaste or taste like grape juice like others I've tried. Going to get a couple more bottles.
Not really wine, but a pleasant grown-up drink.
Our son gave up alcohol when he married a young Moroccan lady. That prompted us to think about how much we were drinking and to look for alcohol-free alternatives. The results have been mixed, with successes and failures. One has to realise that if alcohol is removed from wine it is going to taste different, even though all the other flavours and aromas are preserved. From internet research I found a number of explanations. Here are just two examples, and there seem to be many more: 1. Alcohol evaporating from the surface carries the aromas into our nasal passages and that is a significant part of the taste experience. 2. Alcohol itself has a taste which most people enjoy in dilution and which offsets the acidity. Obviously you lose those things. But a good alcohol-free wine can be a pleasant accompaniment to food and to social interaction for those of us who have got used to engaging in it with a glass at hand, from which we take frequent sips. This is one of the good ones. I think of it as grape juice with the sugar removed rather than wine. Of course that brings the natural acidity to the fore but that somehow makes it easier to sip rather than gulping it down as I would with normal fruit juice. It is a grown-up sipping drink - without the majority of the unhealthy and addictive sugars that normal fruit juice contains. We still drink alcohol, maybe still too much, but on our many “days off” this does a lot of the job wine does, more cheaply, more healthily and without the risk of behaviour one might later regret. There is no alcohol tax and no hangover. Not all alcohol-free wine is palatable, and we have had some unpleasant ones. But once you get used to the fact that it doesn’t taste like normal wine I hope you will join me in classing this as one of our successes.
Ribena is more pleasant
This is no substitute for wine. I had to tip it away. It is sweet and sickly, not how I like my rosé. If Im not drinking wine Id rather have a glass of water than drink this. I wont waste my money again.
Pleasantly surprised
Sure, it doesn't taste like wine, but these non alcoholic versions are much nicer than they used to be! Less sickly sweet and much smoother. I was drinking this at an event where I was driving and a few other people tried a bit too and all expressed their surprise at how good it was. If you're expecting it to taste like wine you might be disappointed, but once your taste buds have had the chance to adjust, you might just like it!
REALLY bad!
Marginally improved over a pile of ice but still pretty unpleasant.
