I prefer the noodles alternative to be honest, but these fettuccine are absolutely alright with pesto or not too liquid pasta sauces. This brand is way less fishy than many other Konjak based pastas.
1) The picture used on the front of the box is not the final product- do not expect a fettuccini style pasta. It isnt yellow, it does not look and feel like an egg/wheat based yellow pasta.
It is basically a flat slimy udon. Added to soup or a stir fry I feel these would be fine but when purchasing you are not made aware of this
2) Definitely doesnt serve 2. 100g of dried pasta maybe, not 100g slimy udon. Again- if adding to a soup dish or as an accompaniment, maybe. But not made clear when buying.
I prepared this with mushrooms and cheese and it was ok. I found that with this range the most critical step is to dry well in a hot pan with no fats or anything after rinsing. As the drying goes on texture improves. It is otherwise slimy and gloopy. Flavour can then be added with dressing of choice. Of course it is not traditional pasta but a great alternative for those who cannot or do not wish to have carbs gluten calories and so on. Star off for price only.
