Product information
We believe that winemaking is part science, part alchemy: in the process of coaxing the flavours from the grapes we provide a window for some magic to enter the world. The Douglas Green winemaking team remains true to tried-and-tested tradition, but also draws on modern techniques and innovative processes in a sustainable manner. Our overarching aim is to create distinctly fresh, fruit-driven, deliciously drinkable wines. In order to do so we draw from the vineyards of hand-selected vignerons and entrust the grapes to our dedicated oenology team who manage and control the process from the vineyard to the bottle. |

Tasting Notes
Pale gold with a vibrant green glow. Exuberant passion fruit, ripe peaches and pineapple on first impression embellished with honey suckle grace that carries through to a generous yet well-tempered palate. Packed ripe fruit flavours freshened up by a tangy citrus acidity on the finish. |
History
For over 80 years, we have sourced and selected grapes to best express our South African wine land origins. Douglas Green was convinced that the quality and character of the varied vineyards of the Western Cape should not be confined, but rather combined to express the best of each region. Continuing a tradition of innovation and quality, the Douglas Green winemaking team is dedicated to producing Cape Wine at its best. Our quest is to source fruit from only the best vineyards and growers, from the best-suited regions for each variety to create our distinctive fruit-driven signature style wines. By selecting and sourcing grapes from the broad boundaries of the Cape winelands, we achieve consistent, high quality standards, vintage after vintage. |

Vinification Details
The grapes were vinified separately in appointed cellars under the care and control of our Oenologist. 50% is fermented on partial solids at 18°C for richness and body, whilst the rest is cold fermented at 14°C in stainless steel tanks to retain purity and freshness of the fruit. Final blending and bottling takes place at our cellars in Wellington. |

Very enjoyable
This is a lovely, easy-drinking wine with a very enjoyable taste, fresh as Chenin Blanc as always is. Priced at £7.50 it's a bargain but at the regular price I could be tempted to buy it too, knowing how good it is.
