Taste like my childhood Christmas!!
I didnt know what to expect when I ordered these but I was VERY pleased as they taste just like Rum Ball sweets (or rum truffles if your posh) that my Mum always had, especially at Christmas, when we were kids. My Mum sadly passed away a while ago and these were absolutely delicious nostalgia for me and my Dad. They brought back happy memories and well definitely be having them again.
Continental Treat Time
Lovely with a really good coffee shot. Like sitting outside at a chic cafe somewhere on a crisp summer morning. These are not to be scoffed, but nibbled as a treat.
Marzipan Heaven
Nobody's neutral about marzipan. If you're the person who eyes other people's wedding cake in case they leave the marzipan, these are for you. The basic cake is a chocolate roll infused with some naughty Scandidavian spirit, then it's surrounded by soft and more-ish marzipan, then dipped in chocolate at either end. It's difficult to imagine any better use for marzipan.
Swedish vacuum cleaners!
"Punsch roll" is a rather strange English translation of "punschrulle", as Swedish "punsch" is a liqueur made with arrack. However, the most popular Swedish name for these titbits is "dammsugare" (vacuum cleaners), as they resemble old style cylinder vacuum cleaners. They are most definitely intended for grown-ups, as the cake inside tastes of spirits and isn't overly sweet. Great with coffee!
great
authentic Swedish treat. works well with espresso as a fika option. adult treat not necessarily for kids.
Divinely decadent.
I thought I'd give these a try as they were on offer and I've been looking at them for a while. I almost wish I hadn't bought them because they are devilishly tasty and very moreish, I've eaten two already today. The almondy marzipan flavour was lovely and so was the dark chocolate. But moreover they're flavoured with arrack which is an alcoholic drink from SE Asia, tasting a bit like rum to me, but not making them soggy like a baba. If you don't like alcoholic tasting desserts/cakes you probably wont like these but I think they're delicious. You must try them. I've ordered 2 packs for next week as these wont last past tomorrow as my husband likes them too.
