Love Daylesford meat, but..
.. I really don't want to be eating nitrates and nitrites. I know it's the done thing now in gammon prep but it wasn't always the case, and if Daylesford are going to claim they do things properly, then please prepare your pork products the traditional way without adding chemicals.
Excellent piece of gammon
Wasn't convinced when it was delivered but changed my mind when it was cooked. Excellent.
Tiny for the price’
Probably will not buy again even though I like organic stuff! Way too small for a family
So much fat \- nothing like this picture
We bought this as I do like to cook from scratch and then freeze. ham. Very little meat, a huge wodge of fat aroudn the meat and rind. Total waste of money sadlyl.
Outstanding
Possibly the best boiled bacon I have ever tasted. I cooked in the normal way, throwing away the water from the first boiling and then simmering in a mixture of white wine and water for about one hour, with an onion, cloves and bouquet garni. Cider would be as good as wine, if not better. The meat was full of delicious flavour.
Unbearably salty. Inedible
I love ham and gammon. I cook them all the time. This is the worst, saltiest joint I can remember. I will never order again. If you do order, please soak in water for at least 24 hours and throw away the soaking water. And then bring to the boil and throw away the water again before simmering to cook. Truly inedible for me. Going in the bin as can't even give it to the dog.
