Great soya chunks
Really nice! Just need to add spices and soya sauce and cook in water for 10mins and they taste amazing! I made vegan kofta kebabs using these soya chunks and they tasted fantastic and had a great texture! 100% recommend this product :)
A new staple
Tried this on a whim as I thought it looked handy and I am glad I did! It has no flavour of course but as others have said it takes on flavour well and easily. I made a chilli with it and the added bonus of this for both clean protein and texture was a real hit! I can understand how some veggie and vegans might not enjoy the texture though.
Makes a lovely soya au vin
It's great to see Ocado have this lovely product at last. Marinated in wine or stock then cooked, it really takes on whatever flavour you like. I'm a long term vegan and I don't find it too meat-like, although we all differ in this regard.
Mixed thoughts...
I have recently discovered Clearspring mince and love it. I was hoping this would be as good. Whilst it is very easy to hydrate and absorbs the flavours used, I found the texture too chewy and reminiscent of meat. Whilst this was a negative for me as a non meat eater, my husband really liked this.
Love this!
I throw this Into my Ramen & Miso dishes. Gives instant protein & fabulous texture. First I used to presoak and marinade. But I found I can just throw them in. They soak up the broth flavour instantly. An underrated product. I will now start using them in all my dishes.
Great Value.
Was happily surprised at how good this is. Takes on whatever flavour you add very well. Also has a wonderful texture that you have to chew. Definitely recommend.
