Surprisingly the more calories the better!
Garden birds use lots of energy in their daily activities. Foods rich in fats and oils will contain high calorie levels and it is these calories that provide them with the energy they need to breed, survive and thrive throughout the year.
So when it comes to bird food, the higher the calories, the better for your birds!

Preparation and Usage
Simply remove the tape holding the lid in place, pull down the perforated tear strip and ease out the cake. Hang from a branch (by looping a piece of string through the hole in the hanger) or specialist peanut cake feeder. Alternatively chop into small pieces for a tasty bird table treat.
Note for Pet Owners:
We have been advised that dog and cat owners should take extra care not to allow their pets to eat any products containing raisins and sultanas as, even in small amounts, these dried fruits can cause serious kidney problems.

the best
The birds love these! Especially liked by the local woodpecker
Starlings love this
We have a lot of wild birds visiting our garden. The starlings actually fight over this product. They love it.
Give birds 3 days to show interest
Initially gave this 2 stars as no interest for the first 2 days - they birds ignore it in favour of square Peckish block and National Trust bird table mix in feeders. But today blackbirds and crows and robins showing interest. Bear in mind, this needs either chopping-up or placing in a feeder, or hang from the plastic support loop at the top: its a solid mass with a plastic 'twig' frame holding it together, but there's nothing for birds to perch on. either hang in a tree so they can perch-and-peck, or it is solid enough to skewer with a couple of twigs for perches.
Our birds love this
The key to getting this out of the packet is to put it in the fridge overnight. This makes it easier to slide out without any gooey mess. In our garden, the starlings, robins, blackbirds, rooks, nuthatches & woodpeckers etc. love this product. I buy 2 per week. I wish it was less expensive but Im doing my bit for wildlife.
Don’t use in the sun!
I’m sure during cooler months the birds will eventually flock to this as all other reviewers have said, but sadly after 24hrs hanging on our feeding station, half the cake had literally melted off and hit the floor. A total mess.
Reasonable
I had this delivered today and its very awkward to slide out of plastic cover to hang up,so I had to cut it out with scissors, bit messy but birds will love it,I wish the manufacturers could make package easier to open so people can get out the peanut cake.
