Located on Spain's north coast, Conservas Ortiz have processed fish by artisan methods since 1891. They come to Ortiz from the cold Atlantic waters off Spain's north coast. Ortiz process the anchovies straight from the boats. They are salted, packed in barrels, and left to mature for at least 6 months. Rich umami flavours develop. Once the anchovies have fully matured they are filleted and packed by hand. With their tender texture and rich sweet flavours, Conservas Ortiz anchovy fillets are some of the very finest
'Oh, the joy of these! If I had to choose between buying a fillet steak or a tin of Brindisa Ortiz anchovies, I’d take the anchovies every time! These are not for cooking with, however: these are for eating on excellent bread spread thickly with unsalted butter. This is the best canapé in the world, in my book, and also my absolute favourite no-cook dinner when I’m eating alone, have no time to get food organised, and want a proper treat.' Nigella Lawson

Outstanding, glorious!
My husband loves these! Succulent, plump, firm anchovy fillets with a glorious flavour - the depth of flavour and texture are outstanding. They retain their texture during cooking and don't fall apart. Exquisite added to pasta, risotto, pizza, stir-fry and even curry at the last minute. Well worth the extra cost.
No Better Out There
These are so good! Plump, firm and the right amount of salt. I tried a cheaper product recently and they did not compare. Stay firm when cooked and dont go mushy.
lovely but....
Love these anchovy fillets but the quantity of the last can I purchased july 2023 had about half of the previous purchases.
Great
Miles ahead of any other brands but so few in the tin makes it terrible value
worth the extra money
Expensive, yes. But you simply cannot compare it to other brands. Worth the extra money in my opinion.
Nice but now appear to be underweight
I like these anchovies but the last few packs that I've bought have all been missing almost a third of their stated drained weight. I'm getting around 20g drained rather than the stated 29g.
