Rip off
Like previous person said. Tiny strips of wood, like big match sticks and underweight
Big K? More like Small K!
Quality not yet tested, but a amazingly small packet. Even with 20% saving, does not at first sight compare well with rip-off offerings from your local filling station. Will retract criticsm if quality and economy-of-use prove unexpectedly good!
underweight bags
one bag was under 900g, and the other 950g which is unacceptable especially given how expensive they are, with a misleading/false description as they were sold as 1kg bags. How cheap to underfill bags of scrap wood and made extra profit. I won't bother again
This should be renamed splinters....
...because that's exactly what most of ours was with a few decent sized bits lobbed in. Some of those had sticky labels on or nails in. It spits like crazy too. I won't be buying this again, it's gone right downhill.
Big K-on
This kindling is perfectly fine for starting a fire in a multi-fuel stove. It can initially spit for a bit, but otherwise catches quickly. That said, I am really not happy to have just discovered my local coal merchant selling the very same Big K 1kg bags for less than £1.50 a pop! I appreciate retailers are only advised on the RRP and are free to set their own price point as they see fit, but at more than double what other retailers are selling it for, who, it is presumed, are still making a profit, seems to take the biscuit.
Pretty Good
The kindling is very dry and lights easily. The offer Ocado are doing at the moment makes it good value for money - 20% off. Theres a good amount in the bag and we only use a small amount to start the fire so it lasts. Its lost a star in the review, as it would be better if it came in a paper bag rather than throwing more plastic away.
