We get through a few kilos of this flour every month. Makes delicious sourdough bread every time. As good as many of the pricier organic flours out there. I mix it with a bit of the more exciting flours there like rye and heritage wheats.
excellent organic flour
Great organic flour. Excellent value. Brilliant for pizza dough.
The tops of all the loaves I made in a breadmaker with this flour collapsed before they were completely cooked. Still edible.and a good flavour, but did not look good. I don't get the same problem with other flours.
I received this flour as a substitute for the Doves Farm. My sourdough just didn't come together, whereas it works every time with Doves Farm. I wont be switching.
Pretty good for an organic
I find this one has a better gluten content than Dove's Farm, which has insufficient gluten to get a good elastic chewy result. It's better to use organic if you can, because non-organic flour and supermarket bread contains traces of Glyphosate weedkiller, which is a suspected carcinogen. Sometimes I use one part Waitrose Canadian Extra Strong - admittedly, not organic - with two parts of this flour and that produces a very good elastic dough.
I make bread by hand and find this gives perfect results every time. Lovely texture and taste. Excellent.
