Together Omega-3 from DHA & EPA Rich Algae Vegetable Capsules 30 per pack
Product information
Together
Health has taken all the goodness from one of nature’s finest offerings and
sourced their omega 3 from pure, powerful algae. Algae doesn’t contain any of
the nasty contaminants found in fish oil, so it can be done in a sustainable
way (the Together Health way). Not only do fish oils have a strong scent and leave an overwhelming aftertaste, they also contribute to the problem of overfishing. With an estimated 25% of the global fish catch being used to produce omega 3, Together Health is dedicated to only producing omega 3 that doesn’t contribute to the disruption of our delicate marine ecosystems. Fish only contain omega 3 because they eat algae, so algae is a much more direct sustainable and environmentally friendly way for us to consume omega 3. Plus, Together Health grow the algae in a 100% contamination-free environment and extract the omega without using any chemicals at all. Each softgel is filled to the brim with plenty of naturally extracted DHA- and EPA-rich algae oil. Together Health's Omega 3 is better for you, and better for the oceans. What makes Together Health’s Algae Omega 3 special? • Natural sustainable fish-free algae source • Ideal ratio of DHA & EPA omega 3 • DHA to maintain normal vision & brain function • EPA supports normal heart function • Never any artificial additives or processing aids • Made with simple chemical-free processes • Easy to take • Plastic-free & compostable packaging • Certified vegan & cruelty-free • Gentle on the stomach • No heavy metals or PCB’s • Manufactured to ISO / GMP / BRC accreditation |

Contains Carrageenan
Didn’t realize that it contained carrageenan. This is awful, and is banned in some countries.
Great product but should not contain carrageenan
I have checked directly with TogetherHealth regarding this product. TogetherHealth contend that their carrageenan is pure. However they are not willing to share any purity data, and they have informed me that they do not routinely test the carrageenan, and that they do not manufacture these pills themselves. If you take 1-2 pills a day on an occassional basis, it's probably fine. However it's not safe to consume this regularly at large doses because food-grade carrageneenan contains a certain percentage of degraded carrageenan. It can also degrade in the stomach. There is another UK company selling algae oil, identical to this oil, in hypermellose capsules. Hypermellose is so safe that it's the active ingredient in over-the-counter eye drops. Regarding the most recent review that links an NIH study, claiming that we should ignore the issue with carrageenan, based on the immediate response I received from TogetherHealth customer service chat representative, immediately linking the same NIH link and denying there could be a concern, I suspect the previous review may not be by a genuine customer. Hopefully Ocado can source an alternative supply of algae oil.
Safe, fish free and environmentally conscious
Love this product. I've research carrageenan a lot and the review mentioned by another reviewer is flawed because of the previously incorrect use of terms for undegraded and degraded carrageenan. You can read more about it here: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/29902080/ I'm not vegan but I get awful 'fish burps' after using fish oil omega 3 which I don't get with these and love the fact I'm not contributing to the fishing industry using this product (especially after watching the recent documentary on Netflix!) Highly recommend.
Great product
When i take these regularly i notice my skin looks great, i also took throughout pregnancy and take other supplements in the range. Only downside is the price but i buy when on offer.
Contains carrageenan
Not happy about the carrageenan in this product because there have been studies linking it to many health issues. One review suggests that there may be no substantial difference between “food-grade” (undegraded) and degraded carrageenan. Degraded carrageenan is a carcinogenic (cancer-causing) version. It’s even used to induce inflammation in animal studies. I won't be buying this product until the carrageenan has been removed. Google carrageenan before you buy this product and make an informed choice.
great veggie option
No taste, easy to swallow, vegetarian. Would recommend but expensive
