good soft texture and subtle taste of ginger
Worked well on fried fish
nice but limited uses.
I received this to review - but it has actually taken ages for me to use it. I love ginger and so this product appealed to me. I actually found it quite difficult to use, other than in stir fries or baking ginger-y treats. It's a lovely product and the ginger flavour is not too strong, but I probably wouldn't buy it again as it's not versatile enough.
This is a good quality product. I could smell the ginger when cooking with it but it is subtle as some others have said.
Nice oil, not an overpowering taste of ginger. Could use it in baking as well as cooking
Love this oil - worth paying for
I received this product to review and, as a bit of a ginger addict, I was excited to try it. It starts as a solid but melts very quickly giving off a lovely mild ginger scent. I've tried it as an oil to cook stir fry in and it provides a delicate ginger flavour to whatever you're cooking. To start with I thought the taste may be too mild, but I actually found I really appreciated the delicate taste. I tried a ginger and coconut stir fry with coconut milk added and a couple of spices and that was delicious, but it actually works without adding extra flavours too. I've also tried this out for baking. I didn't substitute it for all the fat in the recipe (I didn't want to use it all up) but it still added a nice ginger zing to my baking. the coconut oil itself gives a lovely flavour too. I'll definitely buy this in future, although maybe only for occasional use as a treat due to the price.
Nice Ginger Tang
Used this as an alternative to my normal cooking oil and was pleasantly surprised, had a nice Ginger tang - will use again, although a bit expensive.
