I think this is amazing product. I'm constantly battling to keep the cooking smells confined to the kitchen and away from the rest of the house. I've definitely noticed a big improvement when using this. Definitely not a scented candle, but then it doesn't claim that as its primary use, but there is an occasional pleasant light fragrance and for me it does it's job very well.
No smell of basil, patchouli or geranium
I was looking fwd to using Price's Chef's Candle, which I purchased on offer for £3.33. The candle failed to get rid of cooking smell or to even smell of basil, patchouli or geranium.
It does work
But if you leave it on too long, a scent of maybe flowers and generic perfume shows up. So just run it for less than 3 hours. But it does really work.
It actually works
I dont know what black magic this thing uses, but it really does work. My kitchen smelt fishy and this had it smelling like flowers.
I Had to Pimp Up This Candle
This did not work in my heavily used kitchen at all. I am a keen cook and make a lot of intensely flavoured dishes from around the world. The "Chef's Candle" was no match for our level of daliy cooking. I added a dozen drops of essential oils to the melted candle to bulk up the scent, which really helped. I'm glad Ocado are partnering up with M&S as their scented candle is heavenly and very prominent but not uncomfortably so - I should know, I get nauseous at any hint of a powerful scent, especially those horrid car fresheners. I look forward to the partnering with M&S!!
Subtle and effective
I didnt expect this to be a regular scented candle what with its odour-neutralising capabilities. What I was expecting was a fresher atmosphere once you have burned the candle for a while. And it does this. If you are expecting an aroma whilst it burns, then buy a regular scented candle. If, however, you want to get rid of house pongs (from cooking, cigs or your geriatric spaniel), then get this.
