This Portuguese Vinho Verde is pale straw yellow in colour with green hues and is light and zesty on the palate. An exceptional wine with persistent aromas of lime, hints of melon and a lively and refreshing finish.

This Vinho Verde expresses delicate, fresh and floral aromas with a light citrus touch. The palate is aromatic and harmonious, medium bodied, long and linear finish with a very pleasant and refreshing acidity
History
Founded in 1959, the Adega Cooperativa de Ponte de Lima is situated in the ancient town of Ponte de Lima, Portugal's oldest town, and represents around 2000 growers, their families and workers, making it one of the major contenders for the increasingly fashionable Vinho Verde within the area.
Regional Information
Among white wines, the Loureiro variety is of particular importance due to its magnificent adaption to the terroir of the Lima valley, making wines highly appreciated for their freshness, fruit and aroma profiles with medium alcoholic strength.

Vinification Details
Grapes are destemmed and crushed as soon as they arrive at the cooperative. After pressing, alcoholic fermentation occurs at a controlled temperature of between 18°C and 20°C.

Strange taste

This has such a strange taste. The most accurate way I can describe it that it tastes the way plastic sometimes smells, plus vinegar. Not sure if it's a bad batch but it was so bad I don't even want to try it again.

Not the best out there.

For the price, too dry, not fruity enough, very little fizz. Just lacking a little. Track down Raza. For another quid far superior.

Too dry

I've tried several Vinho Verde, but this one is not for me. It's too sharp, dry.

You won't be disappointed with this Vinho Verde

Like most people, I jumped on the Vinho Verde bandwagon after hearing positive things from friends about it. It's delicious, light, slightly fizzy and has a hint of a sherbet taste. I'm not normally into white wines but this is a good change - perfect for summer or with light foods.

Disappointing

I was hoping this would be like the cheap stuff you get in Portugal which is lovely and fresh tasting and not fizzy, this is fizzy and ridiculously expensive.
