Very tasty even if not very satisfying
First time I have tried flammekueche so not much to compare it to, but tried this on special offer and was impressed with it. Lovely taste, and quality layers of crunchy puffed up pastry around the edge. Filled the house with a lovely smell. When it was nearly cooked I redistributed the pool of liquid around the whole of the tarte and put it back in the oven. Only criticism is that afterwards I felt quite unsatisfied due to the lack of protein, but saying that, the quality is very good. P.s. I cooked this on a metal tray in an oven which radiates heat from above and below, which seemed to get around the trouble with soggy bottoms suffered by the other reviewers.
Nice crust
I had a low expectation but it was easy to cook, had a nice texture with a crunchy dough, tasted quite good.
Okay for breakfast
Cooked this the same as I do pizza. Whacked up temperature in oven as hot as it goes for twenty/half hour. Parchment on pizza sheet tatte on top. In oven turn down to correct temp. Pasty was lovely and crisp and middle of tarte soufflés as I took out of oven. Taste wise. Was lovely for change in breakfast and everyone tucked in.
Delicious!
I buy one every month. We love it!
inedible and raw
The bottom was raw even after 45 min in the oven. Just out of curiosity, I kept it until the top was practically cremated, and the bottom was still raw.
what a shame!
Weirdly this was missing from my previous order although I was charged for it. Ordered another one and even after double the time in the oven it wasnt cooked underneath. Wish I could put pics on here. Usually love Picard products but not this one.
