The Chitra Collection
For millennia, philosophers and sages developed the art of transforming fragile leaves into transcendent cups. Like alchemists, they understood the importance of water quality, temperature and brewing time - an art that is slowly fading.
It is this art that Newby seeks to revive, presenting the finest teas and honouring millennia of tradition with a one-of-a-kind museum collection.
Curated as carefully as our teas, Newby's Chitra Collection chronicles the very history of tea in priceless objects. We have chosen to feature one of these objects with each of our teas and tisanes.
Elephant Teapot
XXI Century
Inspired and designed by Newby's Founder, N. Sethia, this elephant teapot is crafted from silver and decorated with enamel, yellow diamonds, emeralds and rubies. It was created to evoke the luxury of antique teaware in the modern era.

bland and weak
Very poor masala tea. The product looks beautiful and luxurious but when you taste it, its really disappointing.
Style over substance
Weak, insipid and lacking any real depth of flavour. Barely any spice, more a background hint.
subtle but delicious
Delicate but potent flavour
I really wanted to like it
I am a big fan of chai tea & I was really looking forward to try this tea. Sadly, not brilliant, quite bland & weak. Individual packaging is stunning and convenient for travelling / work. Would not be in a rush to buy it again, as this tea is very expensive for what it is.
amazing
Even my mum loved it. A really delicious tea with depth and flavour. A hit in this house
A lovely change
I've tried this black and both hot and cold. It was lovely both ways. A subtle blend of spices that is just right. I'll try with milk too as that's the only way I've had Chai type tea before. I suspect it'll be good too but might need brewing for longer
