Dry rubbish
In the good old days these were lovely, no pastry base (very rare) after a year gave it another try, dry, very little meat too much pastry, reviews are generally bad does anyone at M & S bother to read and take notice??
Rubbish
What has happened to Marks and Spencer foods? It used to be the best you could buy! This pie was rubbish. Two tiny pieces of meat, that is not on! Ocado, go back to Waitrose please.. just recently M&S has gone right down the pan. Very disappointed.
Misleading
This is called a puff pastry pie. The base is shortcrust . This crust is like concrete. I bought this in a flash sale, but I see its made with palm oil. The filling was okay. Wont buy again.
Very disappointing
There was one large and one small piece of meat in this pie, and the gravy was tasteless. Didnt realise until I was eating it that it was only puff pastry on the top, the bottom was shortcrust and also tasteless. Overall a very disappointing pie that I wont be buying again.
I cant fault it, it was delish!
I bought two of these pies in the flash sale but now wish that I had bought more. I cooked both from frozen & found that the pastry was lovely and crisp & there was a generous amount of filling and meat. I served the pies with extra gravy as a few people had mentioned the pastry might be dry without it. I tried quite hard to find faults, but couldnt find any - Delicious!
Good Pies
I was very pleased to find these in the freezer when looking for something for dinner. I froze them quite a while ago. They cook from frozen in 35 minutes. Nice crisp pastry, nice flavour meat in gravy. Not too much meat but enough for me as I dont want lots of meat. It was nice and tender. It was a good balance of pastry and filling. I will happily buy these again.
