Lovely flavour
I got this in a flash sale. It was a lovely joint with a good flavour. I cooked it according to instructions for 'medium' but it definitely came out well done. Would buy again but cook it for less time.
Buy British
I always try to purchase meat reared in Britain, and this roasting joint did not disappoint. Cooked as per instructions for rare and it was tender and flavoursome. It was enough for four generous portions with a little left over for a couple of rounds of sandwiches, making it good value for money.
A roasting joint with no fat on it.
This is a heads up for anyone else who purchases this regularly, as we have. In the past these have had a great beef flavour and a generous coating of fat to make what has always been a lovely gravy. This time though, there was virtually no fat on this "Roasting" joint. Despite giving it a long slow cook (covered with foil and with a small amount of water in the pan to keep it moist) this particular joint has emerged tough, dry and tasteless. Obviously the lack of fat meant no real gravy. At £17 this is just not good enough.
Not the best!
This joint did not seem the good quality ive had in the past. Meat was quite tough and not enjoyed by a few of my family. I cooked as per instructions and even sliced thinly per instructions it was chewy and tough. I won't be ordering in future.
Dry and tough
I followed the cooking instructions on the packaging but this was a big disappointment, dry, tough and very little flavour. It was in a flash sale but still expensive for something we couldn't really eat.
Very nice
We followed the cooking instructions exactly, including the searing and resting and we ending up with a delicious joint of beef. We got two generous portions for our Sunday Roast, another two generous portions for a hotpot on Monday and enough left for at least two rounds of sandwiches. Cook it properly and you will not be disappointed.
