Where Did All the Beans Go?
Ah, Heinz Beans—the trusty staple of our pantries, the reliable sidekick for late-night snacks and quick lunches. But alas, how the mighty have fallen! This year, Heinz has decided to play a cruel joke on us, reducing the bean content in their 415g cans from 51% to 50%. "What's 1%?" you might ask. Well, it's about 4 grams fewer beans, or roughly TEN beans per tin! Yes, TEN of our little legume friends have gone missing, presumably off to the same mysterious void where all lost socks end up. As if losing our cherished beans wasn't enough, Heinz has hit us with a price hike, raising the cost from £1 to £1.40. That's a staggering 40% increase for 10% fewer beans. At this rate, we'll soon be paying a premium for the air in the can! I can almost hear the faint whispers of corporate greed seeping through the lid. Now, let's talk scale. Heinz sells up to two and a half million tins of beans a day. Do the math, and that's a whopping 25 million beans disappearing daily. It's like a great bean exodus, leaving our tins emptier and our wallets lighter. I can almost picture a tiny, bean-shaped "Wanted" poster. So, if you're in the market for a can of disappointment seasoned with a dash of price gouging, Heinz Beans are your perfect match. Fewer beans, more money—what a deal! I'm left wondering if Heinz will start offering loans for a tin of beans. Maybe they'll throw in a few extra beans as a signing bonus? In conclusion, here’s to you, Heinz: thanks for ensuring that our toast will have a little less topping and our wallets a little more empty. Bravo! Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to go count the beans in my next tin... if I can find them.
not good
not sure how Heinz justify their price, buy Branston they're much better.
Average beans, redic price
No idea how they can justify their pricing, £1.40 a tin is balmy when M+S beans are just as good imo at 50p
No longer the best.
Heinz are an absolute disgrace with their pricing. I don't mind paying more for quality, but they're not even the best in my opinion. Don't get me started on their £1.70 tins of soup! Branston beans are our favourites now and much cheaper too. I'll be boycotting Heinz products from now on. Greedy lot.
Gold standard for the industry
Heinz's baked beans are simply delicious! They have a rich, savory flavor that's both comforting and satisfying. Plus, the sauce is sweet and tangy, adding a burst of flavor to every bite. They make for a quick and easy meal, perfect for breakfast or as a side dish. Heinz has truly mastered the art of baked beans, and they've been a staple in my pantry for years.
have become less tasteful recent times
Over the past year have become less tasteful, an effort to eat. probably an over reliance on sugar. Switching to other brands
