Worked really quickly & as far as we could tell none was eaten by birds. That said we prepared the ground well & followed suggestions from an online forum to put a light covering of peat over the seeds. This worked well & we had new grass growing after only a week. Would recommend but would suggest you need prepare well to get the best results.
There is grass where once there was none
I've been trying to patch up my sorry looking grass, and this seed seems to be doing well. I've done a good bit of turning and watering on the worst bits before sowing and those bits have taken really well. I bought some childrens windmills to keep the pesky pigeons off.
Cover the seed until germinated ....
I have been buying this every year to patch up my lawn and it works just fine. BTW Pigeons will always eat grass seed, but not sprouting seed, so peg down a liner on the area for about 2 weeks until the grass seed has germinated,
I use this regularly to fill in patches caused by my dogs. It always germinates well and produces a nice dense lawn.
Green green grass
I followed the instructions, apart from sowing a bit late, covered the area with compost and watered it well and it's grown reasonably well. I think blaming pigeons is a bit harsh for lack of growth.
Waste of money
Yet again, pigeons ate it. Whatever is in today's grass seed, needs to be looked at. I've yet to buy some that doesn't get eaten!
