Grind
Since opening in Shoreditch in 2011, Grind has grown across London with cafés and a state-of-the-art coffee roastery. When we were forced to close our cafés during lockdown, we took Grind online. Since then, we've helped hundreds of thousands of people make better, more sustainable coffee at home.
Every minute, 29,000 plastic and aluminium Nespresso® pods go to landfill.
We make home-compostable coffee pods for Nespresso machines, which break down in your compost or food waste bin faster than a banana peel. All of the coffee in them is organic and ethically sourced from sustainable farms around the world. Every single pod is completely organic and biodegradable. To put it simply, our pods observe the characteristics of plastics, whilst being 100% plastic free.
Today, we make more than two million cups of coffee a year across our London cafés, and twelve million more are made at home. That's one every three seconds!
Charities
We also partner with Clean Hub (removing plastic pods from the ocean) and have our own charity called the Doing Good Foundation - which helps clean up the environmental mess made by other coffee companies.
If you've ever had a flat white or a latte in one of the Grinds, you've already tried our House Blend. It's our signature coffee, we roast it ourselves in London and it's served in all our coffees with milk.

dishwater coffee
weak and horrid coffee, if your a costa coffee drinker or equivalent then stay clear of this coffee, as it taste of dishwater :(
Genuinely the worst coffee I’ve ever tasted.
I had high hopes for this coffee, but it was like drinking dishwater that has some week old coffee grounds in it. It barely resembles coffee in appearance, smell or taste. I dumped it in the bin and kept the smart, but vastly overpriced tin. FYI-I usually get the Cafédirect Organic Machu Picchu blend which is divine- I won’t stray again!
Just like the coffee shop
I didn't realise that Ocado sell Grind and only happened upon it by chance. This is expensive and you are paying for the packaging, but hey it is nice packaging! The coffee is really nice, its mellow and smooth and has a bit of an earthy taste to it. I really like it, wish Ocado would sell the refills without the tin. Only thing I would say is I have since repurchased directly from Grind and each blend has tasted a bit different.
It’s ok
I fell for the hype and the pink tin and thought I would try it. The coffee is nice, is it worth the price tag ... that I’m not so sure of. I’ve had better organic coffees so not sure I would purchase again
Pleasant mild flavour
I'm more of a tea drinker than coffee. But do like a coffee now and then and this was pleasantly tasting and quite comforting on a cold winter afternoon. I tastes like a quality coffee. My husband is more of a coffee drinker than me and he was pleased with it too although he did say it was milder than his usual tipple.
Grind House Blend Ground Coffee
I am reviewing this product because I got a free sample from Ocado. The tin arrived. It looked good. I couldn't wait to try the coffee, but unfortunately I was somewhat disappointed with the contents. The coffee seemed rather bland. I tried increasing the strength, but it still lacked flavour in my opinion. Given the cost of the coffee I won't be rushing to buy anymore.
