Cacao butter is the natural fat extracted from the cacao bean. It has a subtle chocolate flavour and is used as an ingredient in chocolate making and increasingly in beauty products.
Grown in South America, the cacao beans are fermented to enhance their rich flavour. The beans are then broken and ground into a paste that is pressed to extract the butter.

amazing
I love making chocolates with it! It makes them taste great. My family loves them. Im so happy I can get it on Ocado! Obviously you dont eat it on its own.
Strong smell
Very strong fermented smell.
Smells bad
It has a very strong fermented smell, perhaps I got an old batch or I dont get it but this packet landed straight in the bin.
Magic product when making homemade chocolate
I love this - its beautiful and melts easily when using it in recipes.
Great for cooking....just experiment!
I didn't know what to do with this, so it sat in my fridge for ages. But I finally decided to make up a recipe, and used it for some flapjacks. I used it half half with butter just to reduce the risk, and it was lovely. Next time I'm going to make them vegan, perhaps half half with some creamed coconut. BTW, the chocolate taste is very subtle, it needs cocoa adding if you want to bring that out more.
