Not For Me
I really love Ginger Beer but I found this unpalatable. It has distinctively metallic notes and leaves a very nasty and enduring after taste. Without doubt the most unpleasant canned drink Ive ever tasted although other reviews are positive. A bad batch, possibly but not a risk Im prepared to take.
My dad really enjoys these
Says they are fiery
Quite Heavy on the sugars
So of all the ginger beers this seems to be the most expensive by some margin. Is it the nicest or the best? I’m not sure to be honest. It might be the most complex with lovely lemon aftertaste but many have that. The rhubarb definitely adds some bitter sweetness but it’s not as fiery as old Jamaica
very good
Enjoyed this drink ice cold. Refreshing, with just enough ginger and you can taste the hint of lemon. Would repurchase.
Surprisingly nice
I don't pretend to be a connoisseur of ginger beer - I like it sweet and fizzy, and would buy Old Jamaica every day of the week if Ocado stocked it. As it is, I struggle to find a good alternative. Bundaberg is the closest but is pricey. All the other 'artisan style' ginger beers Ocado stocks are like fiery water and I expected this to be the same, but took a punt as it was on special offer. I've had Folkington's ginger ale in the past and didn't love it but, on my, I was so pleasantly surprised with this! It's sweet and fizzy and goes down a treat! There's a fiery kick at the end to make you feel like it's fancy, but generally it's just like a commercial ginger beer you'd get in a (much bigger) can from the chippy, which is all that I want.
funny aftertaste
I read the reviews and was excited. This just isnt nice. Its got a really strange, strong chemical aftertaste thats really quite unpleasant. It detracts from any fiery ginger taste. I wouldnt buy this again.
