Not very tasty
Have to agree with other reviewers that these are bland and very sugary.
Not for my hubby
Hubby loves Welsh cakes but not these. I quite liked them but too sweet
Not the norm, but still tasty!
Welsh cakes with added sugar, so eat just as or add a topping of your choice, very nice!
Never a Welsh Cake
Crikey where did they get this recipe from. Sorry Not very nice at all.
Too thin - no taste - not enough fruit
I'm Welsh - I live in Wales - so thought I'd give these Welshcakes a try. Traditional welsh cakes are made on a cast iron bake stone - not sure if these are, but they are way to thin for welsh cakes - more like biscuits - there should be more fruit, and the texture is all wrong. They taste ok - but they're not welshcakes. I won't be buying them a second time.
Too much sugar and not a fan of the cake mix
Doused in sugar to the point of being too much. The cake mix is just ok, nothing special. Maybe the use of margerine rather than butter is the let down? Best Welsh cakes i have eaten are fresh made in Swansea indoor market. Sadly these are no substitute.
