Preparation and Usage
For a delicious and authentic vegetarian dish...
Finely chop one medium sized onion. Gently fry in 1 tablespoon of East End Sunflower Oil until golden brown. Drain contents of can and mix with salt, East End Garam Masala and chopped ginger to taste. Add the spinach mix to the fried onions, cover and simmer over a medium heat for at least 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Meanwhile, cube paneer and fry gently in East End Vegetable Oil until golden brown. When spinach is cooked, add paneer and serve.
Meat Alternative
Prepare spinach as above but omit paneer. Dice boneless meat of your choice into 1" cubes, add to spinach mix and continue to simmer. Serve when meat is tender.

disgusting
This product had pieces of black plastic in it. I will never buy again. Its put me off any sort of tinned spinach. Will stick to frozen spinach from now on.
Great flavour enormous tin.
The spinach has a good flavour and texture but as a side dish would happily feed 8
Quality control required
This has been getting poorer past year or so. Every few months i buy a tin its gotten worse than it was the time before. It is not puree it is just clumps of what looks like weeds. I have bought this brand since 1990's but this is the worst i have ever seen it. East End- put some spinach leaves in not just the tall stalks in. Stop short changing customers and compromising the quality we expect from you.
Revolting
I hesitate to give a bad review. But, as I opened the can, the smell made me feel sick. I could not eat it.
horrible
Cant understand positive reviews - this smells rank (like rotting vegetation) and tastes nothing like spinach - only faintly of old seaweed. Its also not a purée, barely even chopped. I bought it as an alternative to the excellent Waitrose frozen chopped spinach Ocado used to sell, but its like week old defrosted whole leaves. Takes a LOT for me to throw away food, but dont think I can eat this.
Disgusting
I don't get the positive reviews, this is really awful. Stick to frozen spinach for convenience and taste.
