Tasting Notes
Medium crimson red in colour, this wine exhibits nuances of strawberry and red berry fruits with hints of vanilla. The palate is smooth and rich with a velvety texture that is the hallmark of the Pinot Noir.
History
Denbies Wine Estate showcase the ideal geological features benefiting the site. The vineyard was planted to capitalise on the Champagne-like soil profile and aspect. Based on chalky, south facing slopes, the vineyard sits in a protected valley, allowing for optimum heat and sunshine exposure. With 265 acres planted, Denbies is one of the largest vineyards in the UK.
Regional Information
The fruit is sourced from vineyards on the hillsides of the North Downs in Dorking, 40km south west of London. These plots are 50-120 meters above sea level and boast a soil structure that is geologically similar to that of Champagne, with a rich topsoil of loam and flint supported by calcium-rich subsoil. The south facing slopes enjoy maximum sunlight in the growing season. The vineyards are dry farmed and low yielding.
Current Vintage

Vinification Details
The bunches were destemmed, the fruit crushed and tank fermented at 24 degrees. The wine went through malolactic fermentation and fermentation took place over 3 weeks.

Good British Red
Been waiting to see if Britain could produce a decent red wine for ages. very pleasantly surprised by this. Extremely fruity and smooth & light. A perfect Summer red and in my basket for next week. If you like a heavily oaked red then maybe not for you...but if Britain can produce red wine like this then i am a convert. well done Denbies
