These eggs have already began producing an embryo and all eggs were at that stage where you can get a tiny tiny embryo connected to the yolk. Made me feel sad. Plus it was so hard to get rid of the umbilical cord etc. Some eggs had blood spots in the yolk. Flavour-wise, they were weak despite the very orangey yolk. We did not enjoy them and sadly we had bought 3 packs!
Good quality and golden yolks
I have been buying these a couple of years or so. I have tried other brands in between but always go back to these as I love the golden yolks! I tend to buy a pack a week, and have only ever had one that broke when I picked it up out of the box. They are otherwise very strong, sturdy and brown! The sizes are pretty good in that although there is variation within a box, it is not excessive. I notice that other recent reviews mention blood spots but I have never noticed this in any I have received. On a final note, I love the Valentines Day imagery that has been added to my two most recent boxes - very sweet!
no longer golden!! and tiny!!
Such a shame these are no longer worth the money, theyre not golden and half the size of the same brand bought in store - what is going on???
Quality Has Slipped
I have to agree with the previous reviewer in that the overall quality control seems to have slipped of late, too often there have been eggs that are patiently older with wrinkled yokes, watery whites and telling development of growth within the egg.
shame about the thin egg shell
Ive always loved these eggs until the last ones. Ordered three boxes and they came cracked and broken. The shells were unusually thin in this lot for some reason.
These are delicious and a good size too. Really rich yolks that are deep orange in colour. Great scrambled, in bakes or however you like your eggs. These make fabulous custard too.
