1 Pre-heat oven. Remove pie from the box (still in its case). For best results, brush the pastry with milk or whisked egg.
2 Place on a baking tray in the centre of the oven (away from any element or flame) and cook for 30 mins until the pastry turns golden brown.
3 Leave to stand for 2 mins. Remove pie from the case by using scissors to make a cut from the rim downwards to the base, or by slowly pulling the edges of the case away from the pie. Make sure it's piping hot.
This recipe includes some raw ingredients and isn't suitable for microwaving. If frozen, defrost thoroughly before cooking.

Uninspiring!
I'm usually very impressed by Charlie Bigham's products, but this pie was disappointing. When I opened it it was very runny and contained just two pieces of steak. I won't be buying it again.
strange over powering taste
Was plenty of meat no fat found just this weird overpowering taste, wont buy again due to it but was nicely filled

Good news pie.....
This is a very good pie. More expensive than other supermarket alternatives, but really worth the extra cost. Excellent pastry, lovely gravy and generous amount - soft beef and no fat. Happy to pay the extra for a quality pie.
Great pie
Expensive but well worth the extra cost. The pastry is plentiful, crisp and not at all greasy. This pie has just enough steak in a delicious rich gravy and the bonus is a nice sized ceramic dish which is ideal for use as a water bowl for cats and other little critters. This is streets ahead of M&S gourmet steak pie. Highly recommended.
