What can I say but how well this bag works. Don't buy green bananas to keep because they will still be green after a couple of weeks. I too was sceptical reading the other reviews but THIS PRODUCT WORKS.
Having read the reviews I admit I was still sceptical that this would work but it does and really well. This bag has paid for itself in a very short time not having to throw out over ripened bananas. I recommend to anyone who likes their bananas to buy one.
I have always been told not to store bananas in the fridge, so I had my doubts about the banana storage bag, but having tried it for myself, I am now convinced. Bananas keep for at least a week in the bag. The skin goes a bit thin and hard, but the banana flesh stays firm and perfect, and doesn't turn soft and mushy. I used to throw away ripe bananas every week, but not any more! The banana storage bag looks expensive, but it saves me money in the long run.The money I used to waste throwing away ripe bananas adds up to much more than the price of the bag.
Bought four of these as small Christmas gifts for family. We all love them. Put bananas in the bag as you like to eat them or a day before and they keep like it for ages. Of course you then need to find room in your fridge! Also although the tie looks like it should be a drawstring cord - it isn't and that's rather awkward.
This Really Works
This bag works extremely well.. It is now 12 days since I put a bunch of 6 bananas in the bag and put it on the bottom shelf of my fridge. In firmness and taste and texture these bananas taste exactly as they did when I first put them in the bag. One small point that should be mentioned is that the skins go a rather dark mottled yellowy colour after about a week. But this does not affect the taste or texture at all. They taste just like fresh bananas. It's 12 days on now and they're still doing fine.
duvet bag for bananas!
This is amazing. I like bananas to be firm and keep them in the bag in the fridge and they keep for days. I left some in the fridge for a week when on holiday and they were perfect to eat when we returned home. Highly recommended even though it seems to be odd to keep bananas in an insulated bag in my fridge.
