The Great Wave, C. 1830 (Detail)
Katsushika Hokusai, 1760 - 1849
The flat-patterned wave depicted in this Japanese woodblock arches up to its majestic height, and dwarfs the three vulnerable and barely noticeable narrow boats caught in its path. Sacred Mount Fuji, glimpsed at the centre in the far distance, stands serene and eternal, unaffected by events surrounding it.

History
The Great Wave Sauvignon Blanc features Katsushika Hokusai's The Great Wave C.1830. Regional Information
The proximity to the Pacific Ocean provides cool nights as well as morning mists and sea breezes during the afternoons. This is a cool and dry region, where rainfall occurs mostly during the winter period. These conditions help to achieve slow ripening grapes, resulting in a wine with crisp natural acidity, complex flavours and an elegant minerality.

Vinification Details
Sauvignon Blanc grapes are hand harvested early in the morning when temperatures are cooler, which helps to retain aromas and flavours. The grapes are gently pressed at a controlled temperature of 15˚C with selected yeasts, to preserve delicate varietal characteristics, typical of Sauvignon Blanc grapes from the cooler coastal zones in Chile.

I keep buying this wine
I am certainly no expert on wine although I have tried many in my time. I really like this one, when on offer I think it is a real winner.

too acidic
Ive only tried this twice but each time Ive found it far too acidic for my tastes. Not a pleasure to drink but masked if you drink whilst eating strongly flavoured foods.

Unpleasant
I drink Sauvignon all the time, (too often haha), and this was so unpleasant that I actually threw half the bottle away, it was that bad. Tasteless yet nasty!

No Taste
Not a great Sauvignon Blanc, only redeeming factor is that it is not sweet. Disappointed.
