Ok
When you get a good box it makes a lovely bowl of porridge, but so often it can taste bitter and a bit rancid, so as it costs so much I probably shant buy anymore as its just too hit and miss for me.
Very nice
I made overnights oats with these and they were lovely. Wouldnt pay the price again though. It is ridiculous even though they are great. Knock them down to £5 at least
Nice but price is absurd
I have no idea how they justify the price of these. They're lovely but the price is just ridiculous, sort it please Ocado
filling
makes a hearty, gluten/oat free breakfast. agree w/other reviews in regards to milk choices. I used Rude Health Tiger Nut mylk, very nice. clear instructions on box and kept me full for hours. Served w/raspberries and Nutural World Hazelnut Carob butter. Would recommend mainly to folk who need gf/oat free alternative.
Beautiful but pricey
I have an oat intolerance so cannot eat normal porridge and when I found this product I had been cooking quinoa pearls with milk and having them like porridge which wasnt ideal. These flakes are much better and allow me to have porridge for breakfast. It is temperamental when cooking, you have to have just the right amount of liquid otherwise it will turn to wallpaper paste. It doesnt have any of its own sweetness so you need to have this with a milk that has natural sugars such as rice milk or coconut milk or normal milks. If you have this with unsweetened almond milk it will taste rancid. I use a rude health almond milk with rice milk for sweetness. It is so filling and warming I love it either on its own or mixed with fruit and nuts. It is expensive though so I buy from amazon in bulk which works out to £4 a box, sorry ocado!
Bitter in comparison to other brands
I use quinoa flakes to make porridge but these were extremely bitter even with extra maple syrup. I will be sticking to Infinity Foods quinoa flakes instead.
