History
Jean-Marie Calvet establishes the Calvet company in Tain l'Hermitage : (Rhone valley) in 1818. JM Calvet sets up in the heart of Bordeaux in 1823. Jean Calvet, the founder's great-grandson, sets up Calvet in Burgundy in 1889. GCF Group extends the Calvet range into Loire and Alsace appellations in the last 10 years. Specialist in the wines of Bordeaux and selecting the best «cuvées» from other principal French wine areas, Calvet is a French brand, distributed in more than 110 countries.

Fabulous Wine
This really is a good Sauvignon Blanc, its very smooth and has light citrus flavours coming through with a hint of gooseberry too. This is a great wine with fish, chicken, pasta or even drinking on its own. Weve had this with a rich curry and it worked really well. A bargain when its 2 bottled for £16

Delicious
Far too easy to drink. It has a real depth and sophistication that belies the price tag. Good value at full price and an absolute bargain when on offer. Stocking up now!
