Delicious tuna
Really lovely, low salt and delicately flavoured. Enjoyed our tin a lot.
Too variable in quality
Not smelly but you don't always get nice fillets, it can be variable which is the problem. When it is good, it is very good but more often you get brown bits and pieces, more like cat food. The one advantage is that it has the lowest amount of Sodium compared to the other tuna.
fish 4 never
Was given this as a replacement for Charles Basset which I always order. This does not deserve to be called white tuna, £2 fish dressed up as £4.50 tuna.
Proper tuna
Literally cannot understand people below criticising this tuna for being firm or dry. I can only assume they've not eaten whole, proper tuna before. Unlike other tinned tuna this has the consistency of a firm quality tuna steak - not the mush you get in other tinned tuna. The only tincy wincy negative is that you have to put a touch more effort into breaking it up if you want to make tuna mayo. And it's line caught by small fishermen rather than industrial mega fishing boats. Double win and that's why it costs more.
Awful
Organic olive oil is all this had going for it. Rammed into my tin was compacted mush, with brown slime, skin and a bone for good measure. As I found a bone I couldnt even give it to my dogs. The John West slices are still by far the best quality. This is awful
Tins potentially contain toxic BPA
The tin for this product is not accompanied with a statement that it is free of toxic pseudo-estrogens and in particular BPA. If you don't want to expose your body to artificial female hormones which are highly harmful to men, women and especially children or pregnant women, then avoid this product.
