Blanco Nino Lightly Salted White Corn Tortilla Chips 170g
Product information
There are few places quite as beautiful as Celestún, a wetland in the Yucatán that attracts thousands of migrating flamingos to its mangroves every winter. These lagoons are also home to ancient Mayan salt-flats, where we source the salt for these chips. There we've partnered with Traspatio Maya, a social enterprise which supports and protects traditional salt harvesting techniques.

Brand
We select the very best whole non-GMO corn, which we cook then steep overnight, before grinding into a dough called masa using our hand-carved, Mexican volcanic stones. An ancient process called Nixtamalisation. While still hot, this masa is shaped and baked into tortillas. We then leave the tortillas to rest overnight, before cutting and lightly frying them to become the most delicious, authentic tortilla chips.
It takes three days from start to finish, but we think it's worth the wait.

Good corn flavor and just salty enough
I am Mexican. Bought these a few years ago and they were too salty. Wanted tortilla chips for the "queso dip" (cheese and bacon dip) I got from Ocado and so tried these again along with another brand and these were far superior. This is exactly what tortilla chips should be. I mean, they're not as good as fresh fried chips at a restaurant, but I don't expect that from a prepackaged bag of chips. There is a nice crisp and texture from the ground corn. It provides a really pleasant chew. These have a really good corn flavor with a noticeable, but not unpleasant if you're expecting it, sourness from the lime used in the nixtamalization. I didn't get the lime taste in the other brand, or much corn flavor. I'd definitely recommend this as a basic chip where you want to let the dip shine or if you like a simple corn chip.
these are not authentic
I do not like these and wont buy again. I lived in Texas and went to Mexico many times and these are not what chips are supposed to be like.
Crunchy, tasty \x26 light!
